To create a top category car, you need a lot of knowledge. For the Lexus LC, a team of 4,000 engineers and technicians was required to design and develop the 2 +2 coupé. The team left nothing to chance and made no compromises with respect to design and technology. And with petrol or hybrid versions, there’s an LC for everyone.

The new and innovative Multi Stage Hybrid System was introduced for the LC 500h, a system in which the car charges itself when driving and slowing down, making the brake no longer necessary. Combined with the 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine, this is a driving experience like no other. Or go for the 5.0-litre V8 and enjoy that sound for an extra thrill.

Extra-high tensile strength steel, lightweight aluminium and carbon fibre reinforced plastic reduced the weight of the LC by 10 kilograms, without affecting the strength of the body in any way. And the new wheel suspension ensures that the car offers excellent response and road holding.

Using lightweight carbon fibre for the roof reduces the LC centre of gravity. The elegantly finished roof is manufactured in the Motomachi factory using a new, high-speed moulding process.

An active rear spoiler raises automatically at speeds above 80 km/h to generate additional downforce and improve stability. The ventilation openings in the wings reduce turbulence around the wheels, resulting in improved road holding.

And for easier reverse parking, active sensors in the rear bumper issue a warning signal for any obstacles that are in the way. You can also switch the signal off. As soon as you start reversing, the area behind the car will be shown on the 10.3” display. Parking guides are also displayed on the screen.

The Drive Mode Select switch is located next to the steering wheel. You can use this to fine-tune the car to your personal requirements. You can select from the following drive modes ECO / COMFORT / NORMAL / CUSTOM and SPORT S / SPORT S+.

The Lexus Premium navigation system’s 10.3″ large display can be controlled via voice control or the Remote Touch Interface Touch Pad, which works just as easily as a smartphone or tablet. You can present two information sources together on the screen, such as the navigation system and climate control settings.

Radar sensors in the rear bumper register traffic approaching from the rear in other lanes that cannot be seen in the rear-view mirrors. As soon as you indicate that you’re going to change lane and there’s a vehicle in your blind spot, a warning signal appears in the relevant rear-view mirror.

The draped effect of the Alcantara upholstered door panels and the perforations in the leather seat upholstery are examples of the eye for detail with which this Gran Turismo is finished.
